VLADIVOSTOK -- The United States imported a record amount of Russian fertilizers worth 944 million U.S. dollars from January to July, local media reported on Sunday.
The export value of Russian fertilizers to the United States rose by 5 percent in the first seven months from the same period of last year, which stood at 900 million dollars, the previous peak, according to Russia's news agency RIA Novosti.

SINGAPORE -- The non-oil domestic exports (NODX) in Singapore declined by 20.1 percent year-on-year in August, marking a contraction for the 11th straight month, government agency Enterprise Singapore announced Monday.
The figure is lower than the 20.3-percent decline in the previous month, Enterprise Singapore noted, adding that NODX in August fell 3.8 percent month-on-month, compared to the previous 3.5-percent contraction in July. (Singapore-NODX-Contraction)

SYDNEY -- Chevron Australia confirmed on Monday that its Wheatstone liquid natural gas (LNG) facility in Western Australia has recovered to full production despite a fault last week.
"Chevron Australia confirms full production resumed last night at the Wheatstone Gas Facility following a fault on Sept.14. During this time, LNG continued to be produced at approximately 80 percent of usual rates, and vessel loading continued," a spokesperson from the company said in a statement. (Australia-LNG-Strike)

SACRAMENTO, United States -- The U.S. state of California is going after some of the world's largest oil companies, with lawsuit and legislation to hold them accountable for the damage caused by climate change-induced storms and wildfires, officials said Saturday.
In the past week, California, the largest economy in the United States, sued five major oil companies for covering up climate risks caused by fossil fuels and passed a legislation to require companies that operate in the state and make over 1 billion U.S. dollars annually to disclose their greenhouse-gas emissions.
